Oxalyl-CoA synthetase is an enzyme that specifically acts on oxalate. It exhibits no activity towards malonate, succinate, malate, acetate, formate, lactate, glycolate, glyoxylate or glutarate. This enzyme plays a crucial role in oxalate degradation, normal seed development, and defense against fungal pathogens that produce oxalate.
