Function
ADIPOR2 Antibody recognizes the Adiponectin Receptor 2, a crucial receptor for adiponectin, a hormone secreted by adipocytes. Adiponectin plays a vital role in regulating glucose and lipid metabolism, ensuring normal body fat and glucose homeostasis. Upon binding to ADIPOR2, adiponectin activates a signaling pathway that enhances PPARA activity, ultimately leading to increased fatty acid oxidation and glucose uptake. This antibody exhibits intermediate affinity for both globular and full-length adiponectin. It is essential for normal revascularization after chronic ischemia caused by blood vessel blockage.
Tissue Specificity
Ubiquitous. Highly expressed in skeletal muscle, liver and placenta. Weakly expressed in brain, heart, colon, spleen, kidney, thymus, small intestine, peripheral blood leukocytes and lung.
