Nuc2 antibody targets a component of the anaphase-promoting complex/cyclosome (APC/C), a cell cycle-regulated E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complex that governs progression through mitosis and the G1 phase of the cell cycle. The APC/C is believed to confer substrate specificity and, in conjunction with ubiquitin-conjugating E2 enzymes, catalyzes the formation of protein-ubiquitin conjugates. These conjugates are subsequently degraded by the 26S proteasome. Nuc2 antibody interacts with the spindle apparatus, chromosomes, or nuclear envelope, interconnecting nuclear and cytoskeletal functions during mitosis. This interaction is crucial for the elongation of the spindle in anaphase, as its disruption can block this process.
