Target Background

Function
CBX1, also known as HP1beta, is a component of heterochromatin. It recognizes and binds to histone H3 tails methylated at lysine 9, leading to epigenetic repression. The interaction of CBX1 with the lamin B receptor (LBR) contributes to the association of heterochromatin with the inner nuclear membrane.
