Function
HSP-60 is a molecular chaperone implicated in mitochondrial protein import and macromolecular assembly. It facilitates the correct folding of imported proteins. Additionally, HSP-60 may prevent misfolding and promote the refolding and proper assembly of unfolded polypeptides generated under stress conditions in the mitochondrial matrix.
