Experimental Insights

  • Western Blot: Detects CIS-1 in human lung/kidney tissues (28 kDa) and hematopoietic cell lines (35–40 kDa) .

  • Immunocytochemistry: Localizes CIS-1 to the cytoplasm in Hodgkin’s lymphoma cells .

  • Functional Studies: CIS-1 binds phosphorylated IL-3/EPO receptors, promoting STAT5 inactivation via proteasomal degradation .

Cancer Biology

  • Drug Resistance: CIS-1 overexpression in gastric cancer cells enhances autophagy and resistance to chemotherapeutics like 5-fluorouracil .

  • Prognostic Marker: Elevated CIS-1 levels correlate with poor survival in non-small cell lung cancer patients treated with osimertinib .

Signaling Pathways

  • CIS-1 interacts with CRY2 in plants under blue light, regulating floral initiation—a mechanism conserved in mammalian systems .

  • Degradation of CIS-1 via the 26S proteasome is light-dependent, highlighting its role in environmental response pathways .

Target Background

Function
CIS1 antibody plays a crucial role in starvation-induced autophagy. It is involved in mitophagy, a specific type of autophagy targeting mitochondria. CIS1, in collaboration with ATG17 and ATG29, functions at the preautophagosomal structure (PAS) to facilitate the formation of normal autophagosomes under starvation conditions. Additionally, CIS1 may contribute to microtubule function, including chromosome segregation and karyogamy.
