Cleaved-CASP9 (D353) Antibody is involved in the activation cascade of caspases, which are responsible for executing apoptosis. When caspase-9 binds to Apaf-1, it activates the protease, which then cleaves and activates caspase-3. This antibody promotes DNA damage-induced apoptosis in a manner dependent on ABL1/c-Abl. It also proteolytically cleaves poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP). Isoform 2 lacks activity and serves as a dominant-negative inhibitor of caspase-9.
