Function
The ccf-1 antibody targets a catalytic component of the CCR4-NOT complex. This complex is a major cellular mRNA deadenylase implicated in diverse cellular processes, including bulk mRNA degradation, microRNA (miRNA)-mediated repression, translational repression during initiation, and general transcription regulation. Specifically, ccf-1 plays a role in miRNA-mediated deadenylation in embryos and promotes germ cell development and fertility in hermaphrodites. Its influence on mRNA expression suggests additional, broader roles within the complex.
