CPB-3 is a cytoplasmic polyadenylation element binding protein that plays a regulatory role in the translation of specific messenger RNAs (mRNAs). It is important to note that CPB-3 may not be essential for oogenesis.
Gene References Into Functions
CPB-3 expression and degradation are tightly regulated during oocyte meiotic progression. PMID: 29496961
Loss of CPB-3 function results in an increased rate of physiological germ cell death. PMID: 28759574
CPB-3 appears to have a conserved role in the early stages of meiosis and in sperm/oocyte specification, in addition to its established role during meiotic progression. PMID: 16678151
