Function
This antibody targets CSN1, a component of the COP9 signalosome complex (CSN). The CSN complex plays a crucial role in diverse cellular and developmental processes, including photomorphogenesis and responses to auxin and jasmonate. A key function of the CSN complex is the regulation of the ubiquitin (Ub) conjugation pathway. Specifically, it mediates the deneddylation of cullin subunits within SCF-type E3 ubiquitin ligase complexes, thereby modulating their activity. This regulation is essential for repressing photomorphogenesis in darkness by controlling the activity of COP1-containing Ub ligase complexes. Furthermore, CSN1 is involved in the degradation of IAA6 through the regulation of the SCF-TIR Ub ligase complex. Within the CSN complex, CSN1 is central to its overall assembly.
