Target Background

Function
DBF4B is a regulatory subunit for CDC7. It activates CDC7's kinase activity, playing a crucial role in DNA replication and cell proliferation. DBF4B is essential for the progression of the S and M phases of the cell cycle. The CDC7-DBF4B complex specifically phosphorylates the MCM2 subunit at serine 40, which is involved in regulating the initiation of DNA replication during the cell cycle.
