Target Background

Function
LEA proteins are late embryogenesis abundant proteins found in higher plant seed embryos. These proteins play a crucial role in seed development and germination. There are two subsets of LEA proteins (5a and 5b), with the first subset being expressed when the cotyledon weight reaches 80 mg and the second subset expressed above 100 mg. The precise function of these proteins remains an area of active research.
