Function
FIS1B is a component of the peroxisomal and mitochondrial division machineries. It plays a critical role in promoting the fission of mitochondria and peroxisomes. In conjunction with PEX11C, PEX11D, PEX11E, and DRP3A, FIS1B is involved in the cell cycle-associated constitutive self-replication of pre-existing peroxisomes.
