Target Background
Function
FoxD3 is a transcriptional repressor that plays a critical role in early embryonic development. It acts as an essential upstream regulator of neural crest determination and mesoderm induction. FoxD3 achieves its repressive function by recruiting the transcriptional corepressor TLE4. Furthermore, FoxD3 participates in a negative auto-regulatory loop, inhibiting the transcription of its own gene.
