This antibody targets GAMT1, an enzyme that methylates the carboxyl group of several gibberellins (GAs). It exhibits substrate preference in the following order: GA9 > GA20 > GA3 > GA4 > GA34 > GA51 > GA1 > GA19 > GA12. Notably, it displays no activity with diterpenes abietic acid and ent-kaurenoic acid.
Gene References Into Functions
Tomato plants overexpressing AtGAMT1 demonstrated typical GA-deficiency phenotypes and increased tolerance to drought stress. PMID: 23668385
GAMT1 and GAMT2 encode enzymes that utilize S-adenosine-L-methionine (SAM) as a methyl donor to methylate the carboxyl group of GAs. Both genes exhibit their highest expression levels in siliques during seed development. [GAMT1] PMID: 17220201
