Target Background
Function
GA20OX3 is a key oxidase enzyme involved in the biosynthesis of gibberellin. It catalyzes the conversion of GA12 and GA53 to GA9 and GA20, respectively, through a three-step oxidation at C-20 of the gibberellin skeleton. Notably, GA53 is oxidized less effectively than GA12, and GA25 is also generated as a minor product.
