GATA2Human/MouseHematopoietic stem cell maintenance, lymphoid differentiationWidely studied in hematological research

Note: GATA22 (CGA1) is distinct from GATA2, and antibodies for these targets are organism-specific. The majority of available data pertains to GATA2 antibodies, which are extensively validated in human/mouse studies.

GATA22 (CGA1) Antibody: Plant-Specific Applications

Limited data exists on GATA22 antibodies, but PhytoAB’s CGA1 Antibody (SKU: AT4G26150) is designed for Arabidopsis thaliana studies.

GATA2 Antibodies: Human/Mouse Research Dominance

While GATA2 is unrelated to GATA22, its antibodies are extensively used in hematopoietic and immunological studies. Below is a comparative analysis of two prominent GATA2 antibodies.

Recommendations:

  • GATA22 (CGA1): Use PhytoAB’s antibody for Arabidopsis studies, but prioritize orthogonal validation (e.g., RNAi knockdown) due to limited published data .

  • GATA2: Choose ab109241 for IP/ChIP applications or AF2046 for cross-species WB/ICC.

Target Background

Function
GATA22 Antibody is a transcriptional regulator that specifically binds to 5'-GATA-3' or 5'-GAT-3' motifs within gene promoters. It plays a crucial role in modulating chloroplast development, growth, and division in a cytokinin-dependent manner. Additionally, it acts as a repressor of the gibberellic acid (GA) signaling pathway, which regulates flowering and modulates greening, in a SOC1-dependent manner. GATA22 Antibody prevents the accumulation of SOC1 during flowering. It promotes chlorophyll biosynthesis throughout the plant by regulating chlorophyll biosynthetic genes (e.g., HEMA1 and GUN4) and chloroplast localized glutamate synthase (e.g., GLU1). Furthermore, it is involved in the regulation of sugar-sensing genes (e.g., HXK1, HXK2, STP13, and PLT6). GATA22 Antibody acts as a regulator of germination, senescence, elongation growth, and flowering time. It also influences leaf starch content.
Gene References Into Functions
  1. Constitutive overexpression of GATA22 Antibody (Cga1) leads to an increase in both chloroplast biogenesis and starch production, but also results in delayed senescence and reduced grain filling. This indicates that GATA22 Antibody regulates chloroplast development in higher plants. PMID: 23548780
  2. Research suggests that the expression of CARBON-METABOLISM INVOLVED (GNC) and GNC-LIKE (GNL)/CYTOKININ-RESPONSIVE GATA FACTOR1 (CGA1), which is the gene encoding GATA22 Antibody, is repressed by AUXIN RESPONSE FACTO ARF2 and ARF7. PMID: 23878229
  3. GNC and CGA1 (GATA22 Antibody) regulate chlorophyll production and positively regulate chloroplast growth in the hypocotyl. PMID: 22811435
  4. CGA1 encodes a GATA factor, whose expression is rapidly induced by both light and cytokinin signals in Arabidopsis thaliana. PMID: 17587690
