Function
This antibody targets a signaling peptide, a root growth factor, that stimulates root hair formation and growth. It regulates root growth patterns and lateral root development by modulating the length and number of cortical cells in the root apical meristem (RAM) and influencing the anticlinal asymmetric cell divisions in lateral root initiation cells.
Gene References Into Functions
- Research suggests the involvement of GOLVEN proteins GLV4 and GLV8 in root hair formation. (GLV8) PMID: 23370719
Protein Families
RGF family
Subcellular Location
[GLV8p]: Secreted.
Tissue Specificity
Expressed in the root portion above the meristem, in sepals and pollen grains, and in cotyledons and leaves lamina, stipules and petioles.
