Target Background

Function
RACK1C is a minor component of the RACK1 regulatory proteins that play a role in multiple signal transduction pathways. It is involved in multiple hormone responses and developmental processes. This MAPK cascade scaffolding protein is implicated in the protease IV and ArgC signaling pathway but not the flg22 pathway.

  2. The cbl1 null mutant showed upregulation of Receptor for activated C kinase 1C (RACK1C), a WD40 repeat protein. Two rack1c mutant lines exhibited decreased tolerance to salt stress, suggesting RACK1C's role in salt stress resistance. PMID: 22002954
  3. RACK1 may be crucial for normal production of 60S and 80S ribosomes, with its activity potentially regulated by abscissic acid (ABA). [RACK1C] PMID: 21098678

  5. RACK1C (At3g18130) exhibits functional equivalence to RACK1A and is positively regulated by other RACK1 genes. PMID: 18947417
  6. RACK1 genes act redundantly to negatively regulate ABA responses during seed germination and early seedling development. PMID: 19584117
  7. An enhanced effect on ABA hypersensitivity was observed between rack1a and gpa1 or agb1 mutants in ABA inhibition of cotyledon greening and root growth. RACK1 and AGB1 may not physically interact with each other. PMID: 19651700
