GSTU17 is involved in light signaling, primarily phyA-mediated photomorphogenesis. It integrates various phytohormone signals to modulate plant development by influencing glutathione pools. In vitro studies demonstrate glutathione S-transferase activity towards 1-chloro-2,4-dinitrobenzene (CDNB) and benzyl isothiocyanate (BITC).
