Target Background

Function
HHT1 Antibody targets an enzyme involved in the biosynthesis of aromatic suberin, a complex polymer found in plant cell walls. Specifically, it affects the accumulation of ferulate, a key constituent of suberin, in roots and seeds. However, it does not impact the content of p-coumarate or sinapate, other components of suberin.
Gene References Into Functions
  1. The biosynthesis of aromatic suberin in Arabidopsis, primarily in seed and root tissues, relies on an enzyme belonging to the acyl-CoA dependent acyltransferase superfamily. This enzyme is encoded by the gene At5g41040. [HHT] PMID: 19846769
  2. ASFT, the target of HHT1 Antibody, is a feruloyl transferase crucial for suberin biosynthesis. PMID: 19759341
