Gene References Into Functions
The target gene, HISN6A, exhibits functional redundancy with its paralog, HISN6B, in different Arabidopsis thaliana accessions. In Cvi-0, a mutation in HISN6A renders HISN6B essential for survival. Conversely, in Col-0, HISN6A is essential due to the lack of HISN6B expression. Consequently, hybrid progeny homozygous for both Cvi-0 HISN6A and Col-0 HISN6B are unable to survive.
