Target Background
Function
This enzyme catalyzes the condensation of acetyl-CoA with acetoacetyl-CoA to form HMG-CoA. HMG-CoA is the substrate for HMG-CoA reductase. This antibody is devoid of acetoacetyl-CoA thiolase (AACT) activity. It is essential for the development of both tapetosomes and elaioplasts in tapetal cells, and for pollen viability during pollen tube elongation.
