Function
HNL (Hydroxynitrile Lyase) is involved in cyanogenesis, a process where hydrogen cyanide (HCN) is released from injured tissues. This enzyme exhibits R-selective hydroxynitrile lyase activity. Additionally, it can accept nitromethane (MeNO2) as a donor in a reaction with aromatic aldehydes to produce (R)-beta-nitro alcohols.
