Target Background

Function

LBD16 is a transcriptional activator involved in lateral root formation. Its activity is regulated by the transcriptional activators ARF7 and ARF19. LBD16 functions in both the initiation and emergence of lateral roots, collaborating with LBD18 downstream of ARF7 and ARF19. Its activity is further positioned downstream of the auxin influx carriers AUX1 and LAX1 in the regulatory pathway of lateral root initiation and development.
