Target Background
Function
This antibody targets LSD1, a probable histone demethylase that plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression by reducing the levels of histone H3 lysine 4 methylation. Specifically, it acts on the floral repressors FLOWERING LOCUS C (FLC) and FWA, contributing to flowering regulation. LSD1 appears to function redundantly with FLOWERING LOCUS D (FLD) in repressing FLC expression. Furthermore, it is essential for cytosine methylation of FWA. LSD1 also influences primary seed dormancy by regulating DOG1 and abscisic acid signaling-related genes. In conjunction with OTU6/OTLD1, it participates in transcriptional gene repression through histone deubiquitination and demethylation.
