Function
LGALS1 Antibody targets Galectin-1, a lectin known for its binding affinity to beta-galactoside and a wide range of complex carbohydrates. This protein plays a crucial role in regulating cellular processes such as apoptosis, proliferation, and differentiation. It exerts its influence by inhibiting the activity of CD45 protein phosphatase, leading to the phosphorylation of Lyn kinase. Notably, Galectin-1 is a potent inducer of T-cell apoptosis.
