Function
This antibody targets a protein involved in the biosynthesis of lipid A. Lipid A is a phosphorylated glycolipid that anchors lipopolysaccharide to the outer membrane of bacterial cells. In plants, lipid A-like molecules may function as structural components of mitochondrial and/or chloroplast outer membranes, or they may participate in signal transduction or plant defense responses. These functions remain potential and are currently under investigation.
