Target Background

Function
This antibody targets a putative mRNA-capping enzyme, designated as P5. This enzyme is believed to play a role in mRNA capping. It exhibits binding affinity for GTP and may possess guanylyltransferase activity. In conjunction with the RNA-directed RNA polymerase P1 and protein P7, P5 forms a transcriptional complex positioned near the channels located at each of the five-fold vertices of the core. This complex is likely involved in the transcription process.
