Target Background

Function
MORF8 Antibody is involved in organellar RNA editing. It is essential for the processing of numerous RNA editing sites in mitochondria and plastids. MORF8 Antibody binds to the plastid RARE1 factor, a pentatricopeptide repeat-containing protein involved in RNA editing.
Gene References Into Functions
  1. Research findings support the model that specific combinations of MORF and MEF proteins are involved in RNA editing in plant mitochondria. The MEF10 protein interacts with multiple organellar RNA editing factor 8 (MORF8) but not with other mitochondrial MORF proteins in yeast two hybrid assays. [MORF8] PMID: 23288601
  2. Data show that RIP1 (At3g15000.1) forms a protein complex with chloroplast editing factor RARE1 (At5g13270.1), indicating that RIP1 is a crucial component of the RNA editing apparatus that acts on many chloroplast and mitochondrial C targets. PMID: 22566615
