This antibody targets a high-affinity magnesium transporter responsible for magnesium influx into chloroplasts.
Gene References Into Functions
Studies have demonstrated the role of AtMRS2-10 and AtMRS2-11 in magnesium and aluminum transport. Growth of TM2 expressing these isoforms reflects their function. (PMID: 25772503)

Tissue Specificity
Expressed in the green part of the plant. Preferentially expressed in the spongy mesophyll cells and stomata of young leaves but also detected in cotyledons and at the base of the leaf petioles.
