Function
This antibody targets MSH6, a key component of the post-replicative DNA mismatch repair system (MMR). MSH6 forms a heterodimer with MSH2, known as MutS alpha (MSH2-MSH6), which binds to DNA mismatches, initiating DNA repair. MutS alpha specifically recognizes single base mismatches and trinucleotide insertion-deletion loops (IDLs) within the DNA. Additionally, MSH6 is involved in a UV-B-induced DNA damage response pathway.
