Function
This antibody targets 5'-methylthioadenosine nucleosidase (MTN1), an enzyme crucial in the methionine cycle. MTN1 catalyzes the irreversible cleavage of 5'-methylthioadenosine (MTA) into adenine and 5'-methylthioribose. This activity contributes to the maintenance of S-adenosylmethionine (AdoMet) homeostasis and is essential for sustaining high rates of ethylene biosynthesis. Importantly, MTN1 exhibits no activity towards S-adenosylhomocysteine (SAH/AdoHcy).
