Function
The NDH complex facilitates the transfer of electrons from NAD(P)H:plastoquinone to quinones within the photosynthetic electron transport chain, and potentially also within a chloroplast respiratory chain. The primary electron acceptor for this enzyme is believed to be plastoquinone. The NDH complex couples this redox reaction to proton translocation, thereby conserving the redox energy as a proton gradient.
