Target Background
Function
NTR-1 is a receptor for nematocin, a VP/OT-related peptide. Its activity is mediated by G proteins, which activate a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. NTR-1's activity can be modulated by ntr-2, resulting in reduced intracellular cAMP production. This receptor plays a role in gustatory associative learning and male mating behavior.
