Target Background
Function
The ND2 antibody targets a core subunit of the mitochondrial membrane respiratory chain NADH dehydrogenase (Complex I). This subunit is believed to be essential for the minimal assembly required for catalysis. Complex I plays a crucial role in transferring electrons from NADH to the respiratory chain. Ubiquinone is thought to be the immediate electron acceptor for the enzyme.
