Function
PI4KB2 antibody acts on phosphatidylinositol (PtdIns), catalyzing the first committed step in the production of the second messenger inositol-1,4,5-trisphosphate. This enzyme is crucial for the proper organization of the trans-Golgi network (TGN) and post-Golgi secretion in root hairs. In collaboration with PI4KB1, PI4KB2 is essential during the polarized expansion of root hairs and the elongation of pollen tubes. Functionally, it exhibits redundancy with PI4KB1 upstream of the cold response phosphoinositide-dependent phospholipase C (PI-PLC) pathway.
