Target Background
Function
This antibody targets a flavoenzyme involved in polyamine back-conversion. The enzyme catalyzes the oxidation of the secondary amino group of polyamines, including spermine and its acetyl derivatives. Substrate preference is demonstrated as thermospermine > norspermine > spermine > N(1)-acetylspermine. No activity is observed with putrescine, spermidine, or N(1)-acetylspermidine. This enzyme likely plays a crucial role in regulating intracellular polyamine concentrations and contributes to hydrogen peroxide production in response to salt and cold stress.
