Target Background
Function
This antibody targets PAPS2, an essential protein that functions as a polymerase responsible for creating the 3'-poly(A) tail of mRNA molecules. PAPS2 is also involved in the endoribonucleolytic cleavage reaction at specific polyadenylation sites. Its specificity can be modulated through interactions with a cleavage and polyadenylation specificity factor (CPSF) at its C-terminus. Furthermore, PAPS2 mediates the polyadenylation of RNAs associated with polynucleotide phosphorylase (e.g., PNP1).

Tissue Specificity
Mostly expressed in flowers (highly in the style, receptacle and pedicel, but weakly in the vasculature of sepals) and hypocotyls, and, to a lower extent, in roots and stems. Barely detected in leaves (petioles and vascular system).
