Function
This antibody targets PLDALPHA3, an enzyme that hydrolyzes glycerol-phospholipids at the terminal phosphodiesteric bond, generating phosphatidic acids (PA). It exhibits activity with phosphatidylcholine (PC), phosphatidylethanolamine (PE), phosphatidylglycerol (PG), and phosphatidylserine (PS) as substrates. Notably, it does not exhibit activity toward phosphatidylinositol (PI) or PIP2. PLDALPHA3 plays a crucial role in mediating plant responses to hyperosmotic stresses, promoting root growth, flowering, and stress avoidance mechanisms. Importantly, it is not involved in the regulation of stomatal movement and transpirational water loss by abscisic acid.
