Target Background

Function
FAPP1 plays a critical role in regulating vesicular cargo transport from the trans-Golgi network (TGN) to the plasma membrane. It modulates Golgi phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate (PtdIns(4)P) levels and activates the PtdIns(4)P phosphatase activity of SACM1L upon binding PtdIns(4)P in a 'trans' configuration. FAPP1 exhibits a preference for binding to PtdIns(4)P. Additionally, it negatively regulates APOB secretion from hepatocytes.
