Function
This antibody targets the PsaC protein, an apoprotein crucial for the function of the two [4Fe-4S] iron-sulfur clusters (FA and FB) within Photosystem I (PSI). PsaC is essential for PSI's photochemical activity. Specifically, the FB cluster serves as the terminal electron acceptor in PSI, facilitating electron transfer to ferredoxin. The C-terminus of PsaC interacts with PsaA, PsaB, and PsaD, contributing to the assembly of the PSI complex. Furthermore, PsaC is required for the binding of PsaD and PsaE to PSI. PSI, a plastocyanin-ferredoxin oxidoreductase, converts light energy into charge separation, transferring electrons from the P700 chlorophyll pair to a series of electron acceptors (A0, A1, FX, FA, and FB).
