Function
PsbJ is a component of the photosystem II (PSII) core complex. PSII is a light-driven water-plastoquinone oxidoreductase. It utilizes light energy to extract electrons from water (H₂O), producing oxygen (O₂) and a proton gradient. This gradient is then used for ATP synthesis. PSII comprises a core antenna complex for photon capture and an electron transport chain that converts light excitation into charge separation.
