Target Background
Function
PUB23 is an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase that negatively regulates the plant's response to water stress. In coordination with PUB22, it may control a drought signaling pathway through the ubiquitination of cytosolic RPN12a. Furthermore, PUB23 acts as a negative regulator of pathogen-associated molecular pattern (PAMP)-triggered immunity, functioning in conjunction with PUB22 and PUB24.
