Bacillus cereus pathogenicity is still not well understood and requires more research . Bacillus cereus produces enterotoxins that can cause diarrheal syndromes . Cytotoxins like Nhe, Hbl, and CytK mainly cause gastrointestinal toxicity . The PlcR regulon in Bacillus cereus integrates environmental signals and regulates the transcription of genes that help the bacterium grow within a host .
