Recombinant bovine TACR2 activates multiple downstream pathways when expressed in CHO cells:
Pathway
Cellular Response
Phosphatidylinositol-Calcium
Transient IP3 formation and Ca²⁺ mobilization via Gq proteins.
cAMP
Secondary elevation via prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) autocrine signaling.
Arachidonic Acid Release
Increased output, linked to inflammatory responses.
Gene Regulation
Induction of c-fos and c-jun, promoting cell proliferation.
Pharmacological Studies
Antagonists: SR48968 (NK2R-selective) and talarozole modulate receptor activity.
Agonists: Neurokinin A (substance K) triggers calcium flux and cAMP signaling.
Disease Models
Reproductive Health: TACR2 interacts with kisspeptin pathways in granulosa cells, suggesting roles in ovulation.
Neurological Disorders: Linked to depression and neurotransmitter dysregulation.
Product Specs
Form
Lyophilized powder Note: We prioritize shipping the format currently in stock. However, if you have specific format requirements, please indicate them during order placement. We will fulfill your request whenever possible.
Lead Time
Delivery time
may vary depending on the purchase method and location. Please consult your local distributors
for specific delivery timelines. Note: All our proteins are shipped with standard blue ice packs by default. If you require dry ice shipping, please communicate with us in advance. Additional fees will apply.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. For short-term storage, working aliquots can be stored at 4°C for up to one week.
Reconstitution
We recommend centrifuging the vial briefly before opening to ensure the contents settle at the bottom. Reconstitute the protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. For long-term storage, we recommend adding 5-50% glycerol (final concentration) and aliquoting the solution at -20°C/-80°C. Our standard protocol includes 50% glycerol. Customers may use this as a reference.
Shelf Life
Shelf life is influenced by various factors, including storage conditions, buffer composition, temperature, and the protein's inherent stability.
Generally, liquid forms have a shelf life of 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. Lyophilized forms have a shelf life of 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Storage Condition
Upon receipt, store at -20°C/-80°C. Aliquoting is necessary for multiple uses. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Tag Info
Tag type is determined during the manufacturing process.
Tag type is determined during production. If you require a specific tag type, please inform us, and we will prioritize developing the specified tag.
This receptor binds to the tachykinin neuropeptide substance K (neurokinin A). It is associated with G proteins, which activate a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. This receptor displays the following affinity ranking for tachykinins: substance K > neuromedin-K > substance P.
