Lead Time
Delivery times may vary depending on the purchase method and location. For specific delivery estimates, please contact your local distributor.
Note: All protein shipments are standardly accompanied by blue ice packs. If dry ice packaging is required, please notify us in advance for an additional fee.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. For optimal preservation, store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.
Reconstitution
To ensure proper reconstitution, centrifuge the vial briefly before opening to collect the contents at the bottom. We recommend dissolving the protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. To enhance long-term storage, we suggest adding 5-50% glycerol (final concentration) and aliquoting the solution for storage at -20°C/-80°C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50% and can serve as a reference for your preparations.
Shelf Life
The shelf life of our proteins is influenced by several factors including storage conditions, buffer composition, temperature, and the inherent stability of the protein itself.
Generally, liquid formulations have a shelf life of 6 months at -20°C/-80°C, while lyophilized forms maintain stability for 12 months under the same temperature conditions.
Storage Condition
Upon receipt, store the protein at -20°C/-80°C. Aliquoting is recommended for multiple uses. To avoid degradation, minimize repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Target Background

Function
YidC, the membrane protein insertase, is essential for the insertion and proper folding of integral membrane proteins into the membrane. It plays a crucial role in the integration of both Sec-dependent and Sec-independent membrane proteins, as well as in the insertion of certain lipoproteins. YidC also assists in the folding of multispanning membrane proteins.
