Reconstitution

For long-term storage, we recommend adding 5-50% glycerol (final concentration) and aliquoting at -20°C/-80°C. Our standard glycerol concentration is 50%, provided as a guideline.

Target Background

Function
This protein functions as a component of the THO subcomplex within the TREX complex. This complex is believed to couple mRNA transcription, processing, and nuclear export, specifically associating with spliced mRNA, not unspliced pre-mRNA. TREX is recruited to spliced mRNAs via a transcription-independent mechanism, binding upstream of the exon-junction complex (EJC). Its recruitment is splicing- and cap-dependent, occurring near the 5' end of the mRNA, where it facilitates mRNA export to the cytoplasm through the TAP/NFX1 pathway. It may also play a role in cell differentiation.
