Function and Significance
Rab11fip3 is involved in the movement of peripheral sorting endosomes along microtubule tracks towards the microtubule organizing center. As a Rab11 effector protein, Rab11fip3 recognizes the GTP-bound form of RAB11. The functional Rab11-RAB11FIP3 complex regulates the movement of peripheral sorting endosomes (SE) along microtubule tracks toward the microtubule organizing center.
