Note: We will prioritize shipping the format currently in stock. If you require a specific format, please specify this in your order notes. We will fulfill your request to the best of our ability.
Lead Time
Delivery times vary depending on the purchasing method and location. Please contact your local distributor for precise delivery estimates.
Note: Our proteins are shipped with standard blue ice packs. Dry ice shipping is available upon request; please contact us in advance for pricing and arrangements.
Notes
Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.
Reconstitution
Centrifuge the vial briefly before opening to collect the contents. Reconstitute the protein in sterile, deionized water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. We recommend adding 5-50% glycerol (final concentration) and aliquoting for long-term storage at -20°C/-80°C. Our standard glycerol concentration is 50% and can serve as a guideline.
Shelf Life
Shelf life depends on various factors including storage conditions, buffer composition, temperature, and the protein's inherent stability. Generally, liquid formulations have a 6-month shelf life at -20°C/-80°C, while lyophilized forms have a 12-month shelf life at -20°C/-80°C.
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt. Aliquoting is recommended for multiple uses. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Target Background

Function
Tectonin beta-propeller repeat-containing protein 1 (TECPR1) is a tethering factor involved in autophagy. It promotes autophagosome maturation by facilitating fusion between autophagosomes and lysosomes. This function is mediated through its interaction with both the ATG5-ATG12 conjugate and phosphatidylinositol-3-phosphate (PtdIns(3)P) found on autophagosome surfaces. TECPR1 also participates in selective autophagy targeting bacterial pathogens, being essential for phagophore/preautophagosomal structure biogenesis and maturation.
Gene References Into Functions
  1. The coordinated interactions between TECPR1, Atg12-Atg5, and PtdIns(3)P dictate the fusion specificity between autophagosomes and lysosomes. The formation of this complex initiates autophagosome maturation. PMID: 22342342

Subcellular Location
Cytoplasmic vesicle, autophagosome membrane. Lysosome membrane. Note=Localizes to Lysosome membranes, and binds PtdIns(3)P at the surface of autophagosome. Localizes to autolysosomes, a vesicle formed by the fusion between autophagosomes and lysosomes.
